Interviews
 • In some scenarios, respondents might be current or prospective customers
 • In others, respondents could represent industry suppliers, trade associations,
  investment firms, planning departments, etc., depending on the questions at hand
"Sleuthing"
 • Used for narrowly defined objectives or for clearing up loose ends of a more
  comprehensive effort
 • Information sources may be specific and easily located, or obscure
  and found at the end of a circuitous route
 • Sleuthing is always done professionally and above board
